Joey Haddad brings a unique combination of leadership, discipline, and community connection to his role at Applied Wealth. Born and raised in Sydney’s south end, Joey has built his career around commitment, performance, and long-term growth — first as a high-level athlete, then as a business leader, and now in financial services.
After graduating from Sydney Academy in 2007, Joey played in the QMJHL from 2005 to 2009, including two seasons with the Cape Breton Eagles, before going on to a 12-season professional hockey career from 2010 to 2021. Following his playing career, Joey moved into executive leadership with the Cape Breton Eagles, serving from 2023 to 2026 and helping lead the organization’s business operations.
Joey also holds an MBA from Cardiff in the UK and is fully licensed to sell Mutual Funds and Life Insurance products. He brings a thoughtful, grounded approach to financial planning and is committed to helping clients feel informed, supported, and confident about the future. He values strong relationships and believes good advice starts with listening, understanding each client’s goals, and earning trust over time.
Deeply rooted in the local community, Joey is proud to be building his future here in Cape Breton. Outside the office, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Kirsten, and their dog, Maverick.
